Pakistan Expels Undocumented Foreigners

On October 3rd Pakistan’s Interior Minister Sarfraz Bugti announced that undocumented foreigners must leave the country by November 1st or face arrest and deportation. Most of the undocumented population in Pakistan are Afghans. According to United Nations (U.N.) there are more than 2 million undocumented Afghans living in Pakistan, with roughly a third of that number having crossed the Pakistani border in the last 2 years alone. The catalyst for the recent exodus of Afghan migrants into neighboring Pakistan concerns the Taliban once more seizing power in Afghanistan.
