Israeli-Palestine Conflict Intensifies

Tensions between Israel and Palestine are high with the prospects of peace at an all-time low. Within the last week blood has been spilled on both sides leading to fear of an intifada – Palestinian uprising. Nearly a year ago in response to Palestine attacks, Israel implemented Operation Breakwater, a campaign to root out armed groups in the West Bank. Recently, as part of this initiative Israeli forces killed eight Palestinian militants along with two civilians. In response a Palestinian gunman targeted Israeli civilians killing seven worshipers near a synagogue in East Jerusalem.
